Formed in December 2013 by Andy “Cadaver” Cartner after leaving State Control, The Meltdownz emerged from the UK underground with a raw, horror-driven punk sound. The band’s early lineup shifted quickly before settling into a long-standing core of Cadaver on vocals and bass, Nyall “Necro” Dixon on guitar, and Grim Jim on drums - a trio that would define their sound for nearly a decade.
After cutting their teeth on early shows and a demo EP, they released their debut album The Radioactive Dead in 2015, sharing the stage with psychobilly legends King Kurt. They continued to build momentum with their 2020 follow-up Mutants Rise, expanding their reach across the UK and Scotland.
Known for their energetic live shows, The Meltdownz have performed alongside genre heavyweights including GBH, UK Subs, Vice Squad and The Creepshow, cementing their reputation as a reliable and hard-hitting presence in the UK horror punk scene.
