We Are Horror Records™ is an independent record label based in Wolverhampton, UK, founded by Dan Phillips in October 2022 with a simple aim: to champion bands keeping horror punk and its darker corners of alternative music alive.

The label grew from the Horrorpunk’s Not Dead!™ radio show, which began on Mixcloud before moving to Moshville Radio. The show provided a platform for discovering horror-fuelled punk from around the world and laid the groundwork for WAHR’s wider involvement in the scene.

In 2021, that involvement moved beyond broadcasting. Around Halloween, Dan helped bring the previously inactive legendary zombiecore band Send More Paramedics back to the live stage, working alongside the band and others involved in making the shows happen while continuing to run the radio show.

By then, it was clear that the label could play a broader role in helping music reach listeners. We Are Horror Records was established in October 2022, beginning with the release of the first Horrorpunk’s Not Dead!™ compilation. Two further compilations have followed, with a possible fourth instalment planned for 2027. The original project brought together artists from across the horror-punk underground and established the foundation for the label’s future releases.

Since then, WAHR has released singles, EPs and albums from artists working across horror punk, deathrock, psychobilly, horror metal and other darkly inclined forms of alternative music. The label’s focus is on giving distinctive bands a platform and helping their music reach wider audiences.

Its work has also expanded into the live scene through shows, tours and events. In 2026, Dan took full responsibility for bringing The Order of the Fly - 25 Years of Decay UK tour to audiences across the country, working directly with the band to make their first UK shows happen.

Today, We Are Horror Records is increasingly focused on homegrown UK talent, while remaining open to international artists when the right opportunity arises. Alongside its releases, the label continues to develop its presence through live activity across and around the UK horror-punk scene.

The story is still evolving. Alongside running We Are Horror Records, Dan is working towards bringing the Horrorpunk’s Not Dead!™ radio show back to the air, returning to the radio roots from which the label grew.

The goal isn’t simply to put records out. It’s to connect more people with great bands and help the music reach the audience it deserves.
