Toria and The Terror are proud to present their next single, titled Funeral, from their upcoming album entitled 'Wicked Hymns'.
The Terror take a page from early My Chemical Romance in this new single. (three cheers
for sweet revenge) Releases April 11th.
The melody was heard in a dream by Toria 3 years ago.
The song is about:
-New beginnings/adversity after tragedy
-The fear of being forgotten once deceased
This song is for the girls who dye their hair after any life-changing event.
“After a tragic life event, that version of you at the time is dead, like you don’t recognize that person. That’s usually how I feel after a tragic event. I’ll look at pictures of myself from the past and I’m like ‘Who is she? I have no clue who that is.’ It’s more than just growing stronger from tragedy. It’s like ‘No, I am a new Toria. I’m still me, but I’m a new me, like Tomie.’”
The song is driven by an aggressive up-tempo drumbeat with melodic verses filled with
layered harmonies to create a choir effect. Throughout the song, harmonized guitar riffs
paired with a harrowing church organ paint a melancholic scene of a funeral in a gothic
church with a little graveyard attached.

Lyrics
stabbed twice in the back, organs bleeding from within
slowly goes my breath, the colour leaves my pallid skin
water fills my hands, i raise them high above my head
and when the church bell tolls, then i know i must be dead
this is a funeral
for the girl i used to be
this is her funeral
she no longer lives inside of me
this is a funeral
for the girl i used to be
this is her funeral
and now her soul may finally be free
bury me in black, casket lined with roses red
tears fall as you place one last kiss upon my head
water fills the casket, rain is pouring in my plot
and once i’m in the ground then i know i’ll be forgotten
dig me up at midnight when the moon’s above your head
then mix a wicked potion to ensure i will be dead
press the poison to my lips, one drop will be enough
and then my soul will lay to rest, until your time my love
this is a funeral
for the girl i used to be
this is her funeral
she no longer lives inside of me
this is a funeral
for the girl i used to be
this is her funeral
and now her soul may finally be free
this is a funeral
for the girl i used to be
this is her funeral
she no longer lives inside of me
this is a funeral
for the girl i used to be
this is her funeral
and now her soul may finally be free
