Well... we did it.
On Saturday, October 3rd, Horror Punk Fest took over The Flapper in Birmingham, bringing together six bands and a room full of people for one massive celebration of horror punk.
And genuinely, we couldn't have asked for much more.
Zombina and The Skeletones, das GHOUL, Dead Pleasures, Tricie and The Phantom Punks, Hellbound Heist and Oracular all absolutely delivered. From the first band to the last, the response in that room was incredible.
For Tricie and The Phantom Punks, it was their first ever UK show. Dead Pleasures were celebrating 20 years. And for We Are Horror Records… It all happened the day after our fourth anniversary.
Not a bad way to celebrate four years!!
THANK YOU.
A huge thank you has to go to every single person who bought a ticket and came through those doors.
We were SO CLOSE to a sell out…
Putting on an independent show like this is always a gamble. There are months of planning, promotion, emails, organising bands, equipment, timings and about a thousand other things happening behind the scenes.
Then eventually the doors open and you find out whether it was all worth it… It was!
The response we've had since Saturday has been amazing. The merch disappeared far quicker than we expected (you can still grab merch HERE), the bands were brilliant, and most importantly, people seemed to genuinely have a fucking great time.
Not too long ago, I was seriously questioning whether I wanted to continue with We Are Horror Records at all.
Saturday gave me my answer.
Horror punk is alive and well in the UK!!
THE PHOTOS ARE HERE.
I didn't manage to take many photos myself on Saturday, mainly because I spent most of the day running around The Flapper trying to keep everything moving.
Thankfully, plenty of other people did.
We've started putting together a gallery from Horror Punk Fest, featuring professional photography alongside photos taken by people who were there on the night.

Wherever possible, photographers have been credited alongside their work.
If you took photos at Horror Punk Fest and you'd like them included, send them over to wearehorrorrecords@gmail.com and let us know who we should credit.
There are plenty more still to come, so the gallery will continue to grow.
HORROR PUNK FEST WILL RETURN?
To every band, photographer, member of staff, everyone who helped behind the scenes and, most importantly, everyone who showed up and supported the first Horror Punk Fest:
Thank you.
This thing only exists because people actually turn up and support independent music.
After Saturday, there's really only one question left...
See you next year?
